This passage which tells the story of the arrival of the gospel in Africa, highlights two needs, or three. There needs to be a desire to know God, which is surely present in Africa. We also need people, and we are privileged to have found workers to start our ministry in the continent. And the third? A vehicle, still a pressing need! It is hard to run to the point of evangelism with all our kit…
From East to West across the centre of Africa we have branches, shortly to be officially recognised as a zone, a group of national works who work together to strengthen the existing ministry and keep the vision to reach out to new fields. From Kenya to the Democratic republic of the Congo our ministries reach out to areas where the gospel is less known, through schools work, films and other open air ministries. travelling on rough tracks, the teams make slow progress through the country, but are willing to do it to get to places where the gospel is greatly needed.
Pray for the resources to buy and maintain sturdy vehicles for the ministry, as well as to feed our staff and families. We still have none in Rwanda. Pray that schools will open, or remain open to our ministry. And pray for protection for workers and families in the face of all kinds of attacks, particularly the illnesses of Ebola in the Congo (with a 100% death rate) and now Covid-19, in countries with poor health services.
